Contract Length: 12+ months (Possible extension or permanent hire)
Pay Range: $27.37 – $42.50/hr (W2)

Overview:
The Device Development Lab Engineer will be a key contributor within our device development laboratory, gaining deep expertise in lab equipment and technologies. This role is responsible for leveraging advanced lab technologies to develop, refine, and validate automated and semi-automated test methods, as well as qualifying computerized systems critical to our projects. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical ability, an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Overview:
The Device Development Lab Engineer will be a key contributor within our device development laboratory, gaining deep expertise in lab equipment and technologies. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical ability, an analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of lab equipment and technology platforms to serve as a subject matter expert for the team.
- Develop, optimize, and validate automated and semi-automated methods for device testing and analysis.
- Qualify laboratory computerized systems, ensuring compliance with operational and regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough data analysis on test results—identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Author and review technical documentation including procedures, protocols, and test reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams on device development projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with lab equipment and testing procedures as they arise.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance lab efficiency and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering, Physics, Applied Science, or a related field.
- Hands-on proficiency with a wide range of lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Strong background in developing and validating automated and semi-automated test methods.
- Experience programming and automating lab test equipment.
- Proven ability to qualify and maintain computerized laboratory systems.
- Familiarity with data analysis and statistical tools.

- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Physical and Safety Requirements:
- This role is primarily onsite in a laboratory environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and perform repetitive hand motions for sample handling.
- Strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols, including mandatory use of PPE such as safety glasses.
