Duration: 6-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion)
Pay Rate: $81.30 - $88.37/hour (W2)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Associate Manager – IT SOX & ITGC to lead and execute the organization’s IT General Controls (ITGC) testing program in support of SOX compliance. This role will act as a critical liaison between IT, IT Risk Management, SOX PMO, Internal Audit, and External Auditors to ensure a seamless, high-quality, and audit-ready SOX process.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT SOX professional with strong technical expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to drive execution in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
ITGC SOX Execution

• Lead end-to-end ITGC SOX testing, including planning, walkthroughs, test of design, and operating effectiveness across:
  • Logical Access (user provisioning, privileged access, periodic reviews)
  • Change Management
  • IT Operations (job scheduling, backups, incident management)
• Perform ITGC testing in alignment with SOX 404 requirements and external audit standards
• Review and validate documentation, evidence, and testing results to ensure audit readiness
• Identify control gaps, assess risk impact, and support remediation planning and root cause analysis

 
Stakeholder & Auditor Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for ITGC-related coordination with:
  • IT Risk Management
  • SOX PMO
  • External Auditors
• Manage walkthroughs, testing timelines, and evidence requests
• Proactively escalate risks and ensure transparent, “no-surprises” communication

 
Team Leadership & Quality Assurance

• Oversee and review work performed by junior team members or co-ops
• Provide guidance on testing methodologies, documentation standards, and evidence quality
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to SOX timelines

 
Continuous Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality of ITGC testing
• Support updates to ITGC scope, risk assessments, and testing strategies
• Stay current with evolving SOX and ITGC best practices

 
Non-SOX Period Responsibilities

• Support IT and integrated audits
• Conduct targeted risk assessments and advisory reviews
• Contribute to broader Internal Audit initiatives

 
Qualification
Required

• 3–5 years of experience in IT Audit, IT SOX Compliance, or IT Risk Advisory
• Strong knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGC) and SOX 404
• Hands-on experience in planning, executing, and reviewing ITGC testing
• Proven ability to manage relationships with auditors and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience mentoring or reviewing work of junior team members
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior IT and Finance leaders
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field

 
Preferred

• Consulting or Big Four experience
• Life Sciences industry experience
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, or CIA
