Job Title: Linguist III
Location: Fully Onsite (Burlingame, CA or Redmond WA, or New York)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Pay rate: $60/hr on W2
Benefits: PTO, Health, Dental, and Vision
The main function of a Linguist is to develop annotation workflows to assess product quality and analyze datasets, providing insights to XFN stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
Pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act, Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, and San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, qualified applicants will be considered for assignment with arrest and conviction records. Criminal history may have a direct, adverse, and negative relationship with some of the material job duties of this position. Job Responsibilities:
- Develop annotation guidelines
- Work with tooling engineers to develop and debug new annotation workflows
- Extract actionable quantitative and qualitative insights from user traffic on a regular basis
- Scale these annotation processes as we expand new features, new locales and new devices
- Collaborate with other linguists to ensure weekly deliverables are met
- Work under tight timelines
- Proficiency with Python and querying in SQL
- Working autonomously - demonstrated ability to run their own project
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills both verbal and written
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of a digital assistant's technical stack (ASR, Understanding, Entity Recognition, etc.)
- Understanding of a digital assistant's feature set (Weather, Reminders, Chatbot, Calling, Messaging, etc.) and how they coexist together
- Resilient to technical setbacks out of your control
- Fast learner
- Experience working directly with engineering partners - supporting the building of LLMs, prompt engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in linguistics, language technologies, computational linguistics, speech science, or related field.
