Job Title: Plant Engineer
Location: 4300 Hacienda Drive, Pleasanton, CA 94588
Contract Duration: 2+ months (with possibility for extension or permanent hire)
Pay Rate: $52.41 – $116.76 per hour

Overview:
We are hiring a skilled Plant Engineer to oversee facility operations, equipment, and infrastructure, with an emphasis on HVAC systems, Electrical Infrastructure, and Building Management Systems (BMS). The ideal candidate will lead facility upgrade projects, drive process improvements, and ensure optimal system performance throughout the project lifecycle.
 
Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as lead engineer for facility upgrades, focusing on HVAC, electrical systems, and BMS
• Identify engineering needs and propose innovative solutions for regulated (cGxP) environments
• Define and document project requirements; obtain resources, evaluate bids, and oversee project execution
• Develop validation protocols and represent the site as Facilities Subject Matter Expert (SME) on capital projects
• Monitor and analyze facility systems (utilities, HVAC, etc.) to identify trends and improvement opportunities
• Design and implement preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs
• Support departmental business needs and site operations
• Manage capital and expense budgets; prepare reports and presentations on facility planning and disaster recovery
• Train and develop staff on facility SOPs and best practices
• Lead energy conservation efforts by identifying and implementing energy-saving initiatives; report on cost and energy savings
• Drive sustainable operations, collaborating with Eco Teams and pursuing sustainability goals
• Oversee asset management for buildings, utilities, and equipment; conduct facility condition assessments and manage asset lifecycle

 
Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical)
• Minimum 4 years related engineering experience
• Strong technical expertise, particularly in facility systems and equipment
• Experience working in a regulated, cGxP environment
• Collaborative approach, excellent problem-solving and communication skills

 
Additional Information:

• Must be able to travel frequently to Pleasanton and Santa Clara; mileage reimbursement not provided
• Interviews conducted via Google Meets
• Position is fully onsite; initial contract runs through December 31st, with potential extension
