Job Title: Computer Vision Engineer III

Summary
- We are looking for a computer graphics engineer to work with the team on developing synthetic data to train and validate 3D Machine Learning features in Quest and Wearable products.
- A successful engineer will have deep development experience in C++ / Python, as well as with 3D packages such as Blender, particularly in the domain of scene generation (both exterior and interiors).
- An extra plus would also be experience or interest in ML-based rendering techniques.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with engineers and technical artists to build and render procedural / ML techniques for creating indoor and outdoor scenes
- Contribute to scaled rendering pipelines generating millions of image frames
- Partner with Computer Vision / Machine Learning teams on dataset creation including requirements and deliveries
- Build scaled workflows encompassing an entire render pipeline from sensor simulation and scene generation to rendering and ground truth creation (creating semantic segmentation, depth, normals, etc)
- Study state-of-the-art algorithms in the field of camera-based signal processing
- Assess and recommend emerging technologies through close partnership with external, industry-leading suppliers
- Analyze and improve efficiency of algorithms
Skills
Must-Have Skills
- Python, SQL, C++
- Familiarity with 3D Blender tools, procedural scene generation tool, computer graphics experience (raytracing)
- Proven experience building/rendering procedural / ML techniques for creating indoor and outdoor scenes
- Meta Experience or Gaming/Film experience
- Knowledge in 3D computer vision / machine learning
- Experience or interest in ML-based rendering techniques
- Part of the Wearables/Quest device team working on rendering images in outdoor/indoor scenes for VR
- Building scaled workflows encompassing an entire render pipeline from sensor simulation and scene generation to rendering and ground truth creation (creating semantic segmentation, depth, normals, etc)
- Candidate must be good at maintaining timelines and working closely with other engineers/technical artists on projects
- Ideal Background: Computer vision and Film + Game industries creating environments
Education/Experience
- Master’s degree in software engineering / computer science / computer graphics
