About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QC Analyst II to join our Quality Control Potency Lab team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cell culture and bioassay testing to support the release and stability of commercialized products. This position plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with GMP standards, delivering high-quality results, and supporting troubleshooting efforts within a collaborative team environment.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QC Analyst II to join our Quality Control Potency Lab team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing cell culture and bioassay testing to support the release and stability of commercialized products. This position plays a critical part in ensuring compliance with GMP standards, delivering high-quality results, and supporting troubleshooting efforts within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cell culture maintenance and handle mammalian cell lines for potency and bioassay testing.
- Conduct plate-based assays (e.g., ELISA, cell-based potency assays) to evaluate product quality.
- Analyze and interpret test results, documenting findings according to GMP requirements.
- Identify and initiate deviations when required, supporting troubleshooting activities.
- Attend daily huddle meetings, manage testing priorities, and maintain lab equipment and records.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of results.
Required Qualifications
- 5–10 years of industry experience in a GMP QC laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and bioassay techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot assay issues such as standard curve failures and binding inconsistencies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field (Associates with extensive experience considered).
- Familiarity with LIMS, Veeva QMS, or other electronic documentation systems.
- Experience with chromatography (HPLC/LCMS) is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and contribute to process improvements.
Work Environment
- On-site role at our Oceanside facility.
- Team size: Potency group of 5–6 within a collaborative QC team of ~15.
- Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, day shift, with some flexibility required.
