About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Planner/Scheduler II to join our manufacturing operations in Oceanside, CA. This role is responsible for converting the Master Production Schedule (MPS) into detailed production and materials schedules that drive execution across the site. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in production scheduling, supply chain planning, and SAP S4, with a collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate the Master Production Schedule into detailed production and material plans.
- Manage planned/process orders and purchase requisitions for assigned work centers or MRP controllers.
- Coordinate production, materials, and maintenance scheduling to resolve constraints and align resources.
- Drive adherence to planning and scheduling time fences.
- Conduct scenario planning and provide recommendations to support decision-making.
- Monitor and track scheduling metrics such as forecast accuracy, schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, and order management performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline scheduling processes and reduce manual workflows.
- Leverage ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA, OMP, Fiori) to optimize planning efficiency and minimize spreadsheet-based tools.
- Document all scheduling processes and provide training for exception handling.
- Actively participate in cross-functional meetings, resolve issues, and drive alignment to meet production goals.
- Promote and adhere to safety protocols and foster a culture of safety across all operations.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field; APICS certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP S4/HANA and familiarity with OMP and Fiori preferred.
- Strong understanding of planning principles (APICS body of knowledge).
- Experience with materials planning and inventory management in a GMP-regulated environment.
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and G Suite.
Competencies:
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator and team collaborator.
- Proven ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams.
- Work Environment & Additional Information:
- Standard office environment.
- May require rotating on-call hours to support off-shift production activities.
- Commitment to safety: must follow established safety and environmental procedures and actively contribute to a zero-injury culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with supply chain analytics (minimum 2 years).
- APICS certification.
- Familiarity with GMP, lean manufacturing, or world-class manufacturing practices.
