Role Title / Position: Mechanic
Work Location: 700 N 9th St, Broken Arrow, OK 74012
Pay rate: $21.73/hr
Expected Duration: 6 months
Purpose of Position
Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Apply fundamental principles and concepts, progressing from routine tasks to more varied and complex activities with experience.
- Participate in subject matter training as required to gain advanced skills.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine fabrication, assembly, and installation methods.
- Lay out and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials to develop patterns or use templates.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines (shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, routers) to cut, bend, block, form, or straighten materials.
- Shape metal over anvils, blocks, or other forms.
- Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces.
- Weld, solder, bolt, rivet, screw, clip, caulk, or bond parts to assemble products.
- Install assemblies in supportive frameworks per blueprints.
- Inspect assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications.
- Repair and maintain sheet metal products.
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Trade School in Mechanical or Airframe (A&P) preferred
Minimum Experience
-
2 years of relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- PC knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry
- Familiarity with MRP and Quality Management Systems preferred
- Aviation-related shop experience preferred
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, wood, and metalworking equipment
- Skilled in assembly or production with aptitude for related practices
- Able to operate standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, fax machines)
