Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential Extension or Conversion)
Pay Rate: $32.54/hour (W2)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Lab Computing Analyst to join a dynamic lab IT services team supporting laboratory environments. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing lab computing systems, ensuring seamless integration with scientific instrumentation, and supporting validated (GxP) environments.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide implementation, monitoring, and technical support for laboratory IT environments integrated with scientific instruments
• Configure and deploy benchtop computing systems based on customer specifications
• Administer and maintain Windows-based platforms, ensuring secure connectivity
• Support operating systems, desktop hardware, peripherals, instrument-controlled software, core applications, and system imaging
• Manage onboarding, retirement, and relocation of lab equipment and computing assets
• Implement Windows security measures (user/group permissions, folder permissions, group policies, local security policies)
• Identify and implement system enhancements, upgrades, and improvements
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies through reporting and adherence to GxP standards
• Serve as technical liaison for instrument vendors and escalate issues when required
• Troubleshoot and repair instrument-related computers
• Support system validations and change management processes
• Maintain accurate inventory records of lab equipment, PCs, and software
• Submit weekly engineer reports and participate in team meetings
• Act as primary contact for software and hardware-related inquiries
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental regulations

 
Work Environment

• Work within laboratory and controlled environments requiring PPE (lab coat, safety glasses, etc.)
• Fast-paced environment with high service expectations
• Frequent movement between labs and buildings onsite
• Physical requirements include bending, stretching, lifting up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs)
• Exposure to laboratory hazards including chemicals, biological materials, and temperature variations
• May require medical clearance, respirator training, and fit testing

 
Required Qualifications (Must Have)

• Strong experience with Microsoft Windows OS configuration, management, and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (Ethernet, connectivity troubleshooting)
• Experience with remote computing and backup systems
• Hands-on experience supporting scientific instrumentation
• Experience working in validated (GxP) environments with proper documentation
• Expertise in folder permissions, shared drives, and local security policies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience with Acronis
• ServiceNow knowledge
• Tanium experience
• Network label printer support
