Job Title: Bioprocess Manufacturing Technician
Location: 4038 Avenida De La Plata, Oceanside, CA 92056
Duration: 12-Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion)
Pay Rate: $15.32 - $24.27/hour (W2)
Benefits: Weekly pay, Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage

Shift Requirements
Candidates must be flexible and available to work any of the following schedules:
12-Hour Day Shift (6:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
  • Sunday–Tuesday + every other Wednesday
  • Wednesday–Friday + every other Saturday
10-Hour Day Shift (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Sunday–Wednesday
  • Wednesday–Saturday
10-Hour Swing Shift (3:30 PM – 2:00 AM)
  • Sunday–Wednesday
  • Wednesday–Saturday
12-Hour Night Shift (6:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Sunday–Tuesday + every other Saturday
  • Wednesday–Friday + every other Saturday
Onboarding Schedule:
  • 3–4 weeks: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Followed by 3–4 weeks of on-the-job training (Monday–Thursday or Tuesday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
  • Final shift assignment determined based on business needs and candidate strengths

The Opportunity
As an entry-level Manufacturing Technician, you will collaborate with a team to produce high-quality products for patients worldwide. This is a 24/7 manufacturing facility with responsibilities divided between Upstream and Downstream operations.
All technicians are expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain strict safety and compliance standards at all times.
Upstream Responsibilities:
  • Thawing and scaling production processes
  • Preparing media for cell growth
  • Maintaining cell cultures
  • Setting up and breaking down stainless steel bioreactors
Downstream Responsibilities:
  • Isolating, purifying, and concentrating products
  • Preparing buffers
  • Cleaning and steaming chromatography skids
  • Supporting formulation activities

What We're Looking For
We are seeking motivated individuals who are eager to grow professionally and can work independently with limited supervision. While experience is preferred, it is not required.

  • Experience in cleanroom environments under cGMP and ISO/FDA standards (preferred)

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, communication)
  • Flexible to work all shifts and required overtime
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Capable of climbing up to 6 flights of stairs daily
  • Must pass all job-related tests and maintain annual certifications in a cGMP environment
  • Must comply with cleanroom gowning requirements (scrubs, bunny suits, gloves, steel-toe boots)
  • No makeup, jewelry, or personal cell phones allowed in cleanroom areas

Education Requirements (One of the Following):
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering + 1 year related experience
  • Associate degree + 3 years related experience
  • Biotech certificate from an approved program
  • High school diploma + 5 years related experience

Preferred Experience
  • 1–2 years (within the last 7 years) operating complex mechanical equipment used in washing, autoclaving, and assembly for Upstream or Downstream processes
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, biomedical, electronics, chemical, food, cosmetics, or medical device industries

Technical Skills
  • Computer literacy and ability to interface with PLC-based systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable navigating web-based systems and email
  • Basic typing skills and familiarity with Google platforms
