Pay Rate: $31.54 – $50.23/hr (W2)

Position Overview
The Department of Antibody Engineering is seeking a motivated Automation Specialist to join our Research organization. In this role, you’ll collaborate with automation engineers, bench scientists, and informatics teams to design, implement, and maintain state-of-the-art automated systems that accelerate the discovery of therapeutic molecules.

Position Overview
The Department of Antibody Engineering is seeking a motivated Automation Specialist to join our Research organization. In this role, you’ll collaborate with automation engineers, bench scientists, and informatics teams to design, implement, and maintain state-of-the-art automated systems that accelerate the discovery of therapeutic molecules.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with scientists to identify opportunities to automate manual workflows.
- Develop, test, and optimize protocols for integrated lab systems and standalone liquid handlers.
- Troubleshoot automation issues and provide hands-on technical expertise.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure optimal system performance.
- Create and maintain user guides, SOPs, and online documentation.
- Deliver training to staff for efficient and safe use of automation equipment.
- Perform regular maintenance and engage vendors proactively to keep systems fully operational.
Qualifications
- Education: B.S./B.A. in Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- Experience: 1–3 years in a relevant industrial role, ideally within drug discovery or sample management.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with lab automation systems (e.g., Tecan, Hamilton, or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and protocol-related issues.
- Familiarity with scripting or automation programming (Python, VBScript, etc.) is a plus.

Soft Skills:
- Comfortable collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced lab environment.
