Location: Redmond, WA (Onsite)
Duration: 12 months
Start Date: ASAP – Estimated 10/20/2025
Pay Rate: $ 40 - 43/hr on w2
 
About the Role
  • At Reality Labs Research, our team explores and designs novel interfaces and hardware for next-generation virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. We are seeking a motivated Human Subjects Research Assistant II to support behavioral research studies and experiments that help improve human interaction with augmented systems.
  • You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and gain access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and testing facilities. This role focuses on supporting human behavioral experiments, collecting user interaction data, and assisting in study design and implementation.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Stage, set up, and manage equipment and lab spaces for experiments.
  • Conduct experiments including obtaining informed consent, following study protocols, handling confidential data, and creating basic reports.
  • Assist in recruiting, scheduling, and coordinating participants.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with research documentation.
  • Provide feedback and support during experimental design.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a research environment involving human subjects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and personal management skills.
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MA, doctoral student) preferred.
  • Experience analyzing data or designing research protocols.
  • Experience collecting user interaction data using technical equipment (e.g., IMUs, optical sensing, EMG).
  • Familiarity with prototype devices and technical systems.
 
Must-Have Skills:
  • Experience conducting human subjects research.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
 
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience with prototype devices and technical systems.
 
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science (HCI), Engineering (Human Factors), or a closely-related research field.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-lab studies with human subjects.
  • Manage daily study schedules and communicate results or issues as needed.
