Business Data Analyst

Role: Business Data Analyst
Pay Rate: $21.63 per hour, paid weekly
Location of Assignment: Onsite - Three Nationwide Plaza, Columbus, OH, 43215
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Standard Business Hours
Assignment Length: 3 months, opportunity for extension/conversion pending performance, attendance and business need
Target Start Date: 09/22/2025, upon completion of new hire onboarding

Job Summary
Partners with internal customers to identify data and information needs that support business decision-making. Responsible for analyzing data, creating and maintaining reports, managing internal databases, and interpreting statistical and other forms of data analysis to deliver actionable insights.
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements for business decisions. Develops, produces, and maintains ad hoc and custom reports.
2. Analyzes report data and uses various data access tools to gather information for reporting and decision support.
3. Supports special projects, reporting initiatives, and implementation of new technologies. Maintains the integrity of internal data systems.
4. Retrieves and integrates data from internal and external sources to ensure accuracy and consistency in internal databases.
5. Shares relevant reports and information with appropriate departments or personnel.
6. Conducts research and analysis; compiles supporting documentation and verifies third-party information for accuracy.
7. Provides assistance and training to colleagues on data systems, reporting tools, and best practices for data usage.
8. May provide basic maintenance and support for personal computer hardware and software related to job functions.
9. Participates in cross-functional projects and contributes to team initiatives.
10. Delivers actionable insights and recommendations through clear documentation, presentations, and reports.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Minimum Job Requirements
Education:

• Undergraduate studies in business, insurance, mathematics, or a related field required.
• A degree or professional insurance coursework is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of four years of experience in a business information analysis or related role involving data analysis, problem-solving, planning, and coordination.

Knowledge:

• Understanding of business and/or insurance policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with customer service principles, product terminology, regulatory compliance, and operational processes is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for report creation and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to identify and analyze business data needs.
• Skilled in using business software applications for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
• Capable of working under tight deadlines with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
