Pay Rate: $72.41 – $100/hour (W2)

Position Overview
The Senior Project Engineer (MEP – Capital Projects) is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are installed and implemented in accordance with design specifications, performance expectations, and regulatory standards. This role involves detailed inspection, validation, and documentation to ensure full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Position Overview
The Senior Project Engineer (MEP – Capital Projects) is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems are installed and implemented in accordance with design specifications, performance expectations, and regulatory standards. This role involves detailed inspection, validation, and documentation to ensure full compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems & Compliance
- Inspect electrical installations and wiring methods to ensure compliance with approved designs, URS requirements, vendor specifications, and local codes.
- Review calibration certificates, loop testing documentation, and electrical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Evaluate grounding, bonding, and safety disconnect systems against approved drawings.
- Assess motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and power distribution systems.
- Inspect emergency power systems, including generators and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
- Witness electrical testing activities (FAT, SAT, mock-ups) and document findings.
- Review and inspect mechanical components to ensure adherence to design specifications, URS requirements, vendor standards, and regulatory codes.
- Evaluate mechanical documentation for process and product compliance.
- Witness mechanical testing (FAT, SAT, mock-ups) and report observations.
- Review technical drawings, layout plans, and equipment documentation for alignment with project requirements.
- Maintain detailed records of construction progress and field quality observations.
- Identify, document, and report deviations or non-conformities with supporting evidence.
- Review as-built documentation for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Inspect and report on damaged materials and special requirement items.
- Schedule and conduct on-site inspections as required.
- Attend project meetings and collaborate with engineering, QA, construction teams, and suppliers to resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide timely feedback on inspection results to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Update and share earned value/credit reports with project stakeholders on a regular basis.
