Role Title: Mechanical Engineer
Work Location: 906 Airport Rd, Urbana, IL, 618802 (Frasca)
Expected Duration: 12 months
Pay: $48/hr
PURPOSE
Conceptualize, design, and document the mechanical aspects sufficient to support the design, manufacturing, and service of Frasca products. Provide engineering design and analysis. Design may include new product development or modification and support of existing product.
COMPANY REQUIREMENTS
Incorporate the principles of Frasca's Mission, Vision, and Values into all aspects of performing job duties.
Promote progress by integrating company policy and by using initiative to recommend change.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Safety & Training Coordinator.
Comply with all quality policies and procedures. Report quality deficiencies.
Communicate with customers and other departments.
Essential Functions:
Master and continue to perform essential functions of associate mechanical engineer role.
Read and interpret aircraft manuals to determine system functionality.
Participate in data collection trips to determine component size and functionality.
Locate part substitutes as needed.
Review technical and contractual documentation to ensure designs meet requirements.
Troubleshoot designs and determine the best approach to solve design or manufacturing-related problems.
Support manufacturing in all aspects including answering questions or assembling equipment.
Design and create room requirements drawings and proposals.
Communicate and coordinate with other engineering departments.
Communicate with vendors and determine sources of purchased components.
Provide support for Marketing and Project Management.
Other duties as assigned.
