Job Title: Hardware/Software Integration Technician
Location: 1910 East Innovation Park Drive, Tucson, AZ 85755
Duration: 12 months contract (with possibility for extension or Permanent job conversion)
Payrate: $21.44 - $45.41/hr. on W2
Benefits: Paid weekly, Vision, Dental and Medical.
Job Summary:
The R&D Lab Coordinator is responsible for high-level planning activities to ensure the robustness of laboratory equipment, instruments, and computer/software configurations across varying development projects. This role supports multiple software and systems development projects, maintaining the daily operations of laboratory computers, instruments, and equipment.
The position provides advanced onsite servicing and technical support for a variety of lab and office equipment, including computers, printers, and laboratory instruments. The coordinator uses advanced troubleshooting to resolve issues, determine root causes, and recommend engineering solutions. The ideal candidate works creatively and efficiently, exercises independent judgment, and completes assignments with initiative.
Additionally, the R&D Lab Coordinator manages the procurement and stocking of lab and office supplies, assists with maintaining software licenses, and ensures thorough documentation and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain instruments, computers, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment malfunctions.
- Assist with R&D lab capacity planning to ensure teams have access to instruments and devices in specific configurations.
- Manage maintenance for diverse software and hardware device versions.
- Maintain up-to-date operating systems; create and manage virtual images; install and configure Roche product software.
- Apply company practices to tasks in configuration management.
- Maintain inventory and order lab supplies.
- Schedule and coordinate equipment repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct preventative maintenance for development instruments, with comprehensive documentation.
- Monitor work quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.
- Complete assignments related to job discipline with limited guidance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in computer and hardware/software support, troubleshooting, or technical customer service.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience with Ventana auto-stainers or other automated laboratory instrumentation.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable (three years of experience per year of education).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail in instructions and documentation.
- Proficient IT, networking, and security knowledge.
- Skilled with hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches).
- Ability to install/configure Windows OS and other lab or product software.
- Advanced knowledge of virtual machine setup and configuration.
- Physically able to lift up to 45 pounds.
