Location: 1300 Thames Street Harbor Point Phase I Baltimore MD USA 21230
Pay Rate: $20.73/hr

Shift-Hybrid
Contract Length: 12 Months (Extension or conversion to FTE based on performance, attendance, and business need)

Overview
The Operations Specialist is responsible for executing operational processes, supporting process management, and contributing to project efforts. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The specialist collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate margining, collateral management, and operational controls, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and company policies.
Role Description & Responsibilities
  • Execute operational processes and support process management and project initiatives.
  • Demonstrate detailed knowledge of processes, systems, markets, and instruments affecting the team.
  • Analyze and resolve complex or ambiguous issues, identifying root causes and recommending solutions.
  • Ensure timely completion of compliance courses and adherence to policies.
  • Build and manage day-to-day relationships with Business Unit partners, infrastructure teams, and external client contacts.
  • Perform daily margin calculations in accordance with policy, issue margin calls, and monitor their status.
  • Prepare and monitor collateral movements, reconcile accounts, and maintain collateral balances in good standing.
  • Perform control activities to ensure exposures are accurately captured and monitored in systems.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients, sales teams, and business partners, resolving complex collateral issues.
  • Participate in global initiatives and projects to enhance controls and streamline margin processes.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 0–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills; able to navigate, manipulate, and format large datasets.
  • Good understanding of financial products, including equity/fixed income OTC derivatives and FX products; basic knowledge of ISDA/CSA is a bonus.
  • Attention to detail and escalation awareness; ability to assess risk and exposure issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently, while maintaining strong workflow and control processes.
  • Commitment to self-development, learning from feedback, and adapting behavior as needed.
  • Ability to work with external clients to enhance their experience and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Awareness of regulatory and market changes and their long-term impact on business operations.
