Duration: 12+ month contract (with potential extension or conversion to permanent)
Pay Rate: $35.45 – $70.14/hour

We are pioneering a revolutionary, cost-effective single-molecule DNA sequencer by combining biological systems with integrated circuit technology. This breakthrough platform has the potential to transform healthcare, enabling timely disease screening and cancer diagnostics.
Our team in Santa Clara is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of consumable fluidic devices. The ideal candidate will leverage their mechanical or process engineering background to contribute to multiple cross-functional teams, focusing on both device components and surface chemistry initiatives.

Our team in Santa Clara is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to support the development of consumable fluidic devices. The ideal candidate will leverage their mechanical or process engineering background to contribute to multiple cross-functional teams, focusing on both device components and surface chemistry initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support flowcell manufacturing, process development, and assembly.
- Assist senior engineers with CAD modeling and design using SolidWorks.
- Perform dimensional and mechanical measurements, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Conduct surface metrology and characterization.
- Perform component testing, quality checks, and visual inspections.
- Prepare samples for external analysis as required.
- Manage component and subcomponent inventories, including incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Contribute flexibly across engineering tasks to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- 0–2 years of professional experience (hands-on lab or internship experience highly preferred).
- Strong proficiency with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or equivalent tools required.
- Exposure to metrology or microscopy equipment strongly preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in microfabrication, microfluidics, or material science is a plus.
