Location: Scottsdale, AZ (Onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract, potential for extension/conversion pending attendance, performance and business need

Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Flexible start time, as early as 7:00 AM)
Duties:
The Payer Solutions Contracting Advisor is responsible for drafting and preparation of non-standard and standard client contracts, managing redlines, and facilitating negotiations, requiring a higher degree of independence and skill. The role also serves as Contracting Team representation on assignments with the Business, Legal, Finance, Business Subject Matter Experts, external clients, or other third parties, as applicable. The role will help drive department quality improvement efforts and measures aimed at improving the overall contracting process quality, efficiency, and internal/external client satisfaction.

Duties:
The Payer Solutions Contracting Advisor is responsible for drafting and preparation of non-standard and standard client contracts, managing redlines, and facilitating negotiations, requiring a higher degree of independence and skill. The role also serves as Contracting Team representation on assignments with the Business, Legal, Finance, Business Subject Matter Experts, external clients, or other third parties, as applicable. The role will help drive department quality improvement efforts and measures aimed at improving the overall contracting process quality, efficiency, and internal/external client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with internal matrix partners and Senior Legal Counsel to successfully plan, draft, prepare, and execute contracting assignments and special projects.
- Understand Client/Payer contracting arrangements, capture input from key stakeholders, assess impacts to existing agreements when applicable, and develop recommended contractual language, securing all necessary parties’ approvals.
- Participate in internal and client contract strategy and negotiation calls; capture meeting notes and proposed contract changes/redlines; draft new language, maintain separate internal and client versions as needed. Follow up with internal partners to ensure alignment with negotiated contract terms.
- Write contract letters, other necessary communications, and notices.
- Partner with Contract Admin Team members to review and/or propose contract language changes for Senior Legal Counsel approval.
- Help update and maintain agreement templates. Obtain internal approvals on template updates as needed.
- Ensure that agreements meet operational standards, are accurate, and are executed on time.
- Follow the Contracting Team’s processes, including the archiving and dissemination of executed agreements.
- Support quality efforts by analyzing and recommending process improvements to improve overall contracting process quality, efficiency, and internal/external client satisfaction.
- Support the education and training of contracting team members.
- When needed, support additional Contracting team responsibilities such as employer agreements, quality checks of work in progress, ad hoc projects, and other items.
- Manage and maintain the contracting library.
- Prioritize and balance the workload.
- Paralegal certification (CP or RP) preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of experience drafting contractual language.
- Experience in health insurance, healthcare, or third-party administration preferred.
- Contract review and drafting.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, quickly grasp new concepts, solve problems, and make decisions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to mediate and resolve complex contract issues and negotiate solutions.
- Ability to work with internal and external partners at all levels of management.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage timelines and balance multiple deadlines.
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Experience with Salesforce.com and/or DocuSign is a plus.
- Contract administration.
- Customer-service orientation.
- Ability to redline documents using Microsoft Word.
