Material Handling Technician - 3rd Shift
Job Title: Material Handling Technician I – 3rd Shift
Location: 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46256
Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential for Extension or Conversion to Permanent)
Pay Rate: $25.98/hr
Benefits: Weekly Pay, Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage
Shift: 3rd shift - 9:15 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday to Sunday. No regular shifts on Friday night or Saturday night.
Summary:
Our client, a leading diagnostics manufacturer, is seeking a Material Handling Technician to manage shipping, order fulfillment, storage, and distribution of materials—primarily diagnostic reagents used in disease prevention and management. This role combines hands-on warehouse duties with administrative tasks and requires working in temperature-controlled environments, including refrigerated and frozen areas.
Key Responsibilities:

Pick and pack customer orders accurately using RF scanners or voice-picking systems.

Verify products, lot numbers, addresses, shipping temperatures, and methods before shipment.

Stock, move, and distribute materials within warehouse and production areas.

Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, man-up order pickers) as needed.

Maintain inventory records and follow all safety protocols.

Work largely independently, escalating complex issues when required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in refrigerated and frozen areas.
- Understanding of standard safety procedures and willingness to complete required training/certifications.
- Preferred: forklift or order picker experience, basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel), and strong communication and organizational skills.
