Core Technician I
Job Title: Core Technician I
Location: 14905 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77047
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion pending performance and business need
Shift: Night Shift – 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (12-hour rotating shifts: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off; every other weekend required)
Pay Rate: $16.09 – $26.80 per hour
Overview:
The Environmental Monitoring (EM) Core Technician is responsible for performing EM activities that support the manufacturing and aseptic processing of clinical-grade products in a cleanroom environment. The role involves equipment operation, documentation, and ensuring sterile conditions in alignment with cGMP standards.
Training Requirement:
Must be available to train on first shift (Monday–Friday) for the first 4–6 weeks.
Responsibilities:

Participate in Environmental Monitoring (EM) activities in support of GMP viral therapy production

Perform aseptic processing tasks including cell culture and product purification

Collaborate with the QC EM team to ensure equipment availability and readiness for manufacturing processes

Draft, complete, and revise production documents including batch records and EM forms

Prepare buffers and components, including the use of steam autoclave

Operate manual, semi-automated, and automated systems used in clinical production

Utilize environmental monitoring instruments such as Solairs, ApexZ50, and active counters
Work Environment:
-
Work is primarily performed in a cleanroom environment

Full gowning required: scrubs, hairnet, shoe covers, hood, gown, mask, boots, and double gloves
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences preferred

Basic laboratory experience with a Bachelor's degree or intermediate lab experience in a cGMP clinical production environment with a High School Diploma
-
Lab experience preferred
-
1–3 years of relevant experience
