Duties:
- Manage specimen handling processes, ensuring chain-of-custody, integrity, and accurate data entry into LIMS.
- Verify, log, and track samples with great attention to detail.
- Receive and accession all submitted sample types for storage in the repository using internal LIMS.
- Participate in sample inventory audits to ensure accuracy of data.
- Collaborate on editing and writing procedures
- Work in a lab environment using chemicals and reagents.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by following local, business unit, and corporate safety policies.
- Collaborate with other departments and colleagues for problem solving and local sample inventory support.
- Execute work in adherence to Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills:
- 3 years of professional experience with accessioning and/or sample management
- Prior use of laboratory information management systems (SAPIO ELN/LIMS preferred)
- Knowledge of specimen handling best practices
- Excellent computer/data entry skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks at once
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with peers in a fast-paced and cross-functional results-oriented team environment
- Demonstrate experience working within tight timelines for successful execution of project and program goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and thoroughly follow up on assigned tasks
- Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies and work environment
- Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data
Education:
Associate or bachelor's Degree, particularly a science degree in biological or life sciences
